A handsome old man asked for sex up to 10 times a day: lawsuit

This elder has a higher libido than his bank account.

A former Wilhelmina model claims her octogenarian boyfriend persuaded her to give up her career, a rent-stabilized flat in Chelsea and move into his sprawling Rye home – where he sometimes demanded sex 10 times a day , according to a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Janet Bedin, 68, claims Vito Verni, 84, cast emotional bait between early 2019 and late 2021 “when they were living together as a couple” in the 5,000 square foot Westchester manse, according to the suit .

Bedin is now suing Verni for $80 million, charging a long list that includes defamation, fraudulent incitement, harassment and unlawful deportation, according to court documents.

The civil suit portrays an accomplished career woman tricked by a man who got carried away with promises of love and luxury he didn’t keep.

Bedin even gave up her dog — because Verni had a cat — and she worked like a horse, according to the complaint.

“The applicant had to be 100% his carer. He wanted the applicant to be available for
all his sexual needs, be his escort, do his laundry, cook his meals. (This turned out to mean
intercourse, sometimes up to 10 times a day),” the costume reads.

Over the years, Bedin “has developed an exciting career highly respected by
executives and heads of government, going back and forth between New York and Italy,” the suit reads. From 1991 to 1995, she served as executive director of the New York State Economic Office for Italy and Spain under former Governor Mario Cuomo. She held this position again from 2015 to 2018.

“As such, the applicant had the honor of meeting Pope Francis, Mother Teresa, the President and Prime Minister of Italy, the United States Ambassador to the Vatican and many others… [who she] continues to count as his friends,” the complaint reads.

The duo had been lovers “on and off” for decades, according to the Oct. 26 filing.

In 1976, 21-year-old Bedin arrived in New York from Rockford, Illinois, “hoping to pursue her dream of modeling and acting,” the suit reads. She started out as a model for Wilhelmina before becoming a business development manager.

That same year, Bedin became a tenant of the building on West 22nd Street Verni, then 38, who was detained at the time, according to court documents.

The ex-model claims the seeds for the horny relationship were planted when Verni kept calling her to “inspect” the apartment, according to the suit.

Verni “never wore a wedding ring and began kissing” Bedin in her apartment, “leading to a long intimate relationship” that has been on and off since 1976, the suit states.

Bedin “broken up” with Verni several times, but the married man “continued to pursue her,” the complaint reads.

In late 2018, Verni called Bedin to inform him that his wife had died and that he “is now single” and asked him out, according to the lawsuit. “Soon after, [Verni] pressured, cajoled, enticed “Bedin to leave New York and move in with him to his six-bedroom, six-bathroom estate ‘and no longer be part of the workforce,’ the lawsuit charges.

Verni told Bedin he wanted her to be with him “100 percent of the time” and to “just focus on him,” according to the lawsuit. Verni reportedly promised to cover the bills for Bedin’s ailing brother, and swore, “we’re going to travel, be [at] his club, socialize with his friends, go to
museums, take oenology lessons together.

But once Bedin moved in, “the relationship changed,” the lawsuit says, accusing Verni of becoming controlling and verbally and physically abusive.

The “savvy and experienced New York City proprietor of over 65 years” evicted Bedin, according to the explosive lawsuit.

Verni owns “numerous” apartment buildings in Manhattan, the Bronx, Connecticut and a new development in Harrison, NY, the complaint states.

The lawsuit accuses Verni of initially showering her with cards and letters and an emerald and diamond engagement ring, and “fraudulently inducing her to abandon her career.”

In court documents relating to the eviction, Verni called Bedin’s claims a “shakedown” and said “we socialized a few days a week and nothing more.”

Verni’s attorney, Eric Grayson, said, “Mrs. Bedin’s baseless lawsuit is just one more attempt to harass Mr. Verni. Ms Bedin filed almost exactly the same complaint in Westchester County Supreme Court and last month was dismissed by Judge Zuckerman on all counts. Mr Verni obtained 4 orders of protection against Ms Bedin and at the last hearing Judge Horowitz said: ‘Madam, you really have to understand, you are going to end up in prison and I am shocked that you did’. t already. It has to stop. The Court has now given Ms Bedin full warning and if she ends up in jail, she has no one to blame but herself.
